ProGuard ZoneStop Crash Cushion, energy-absorbing, VVMB 351 2000/70

ProGuard ZoneStop is a patent-pending, energy-absorbing crash cushion (traffic buffer) for temporary road works, tested to VVMB 351:2007 at 2000/70 and authorised by the Swedish Transport Administration for use on all roads up to 80 km/h. A front weight moves in a controlled way over a stable base, giving progressive three-stage energy absorption. Tested stopping distance is 19.2 m at 70 km/h (requirement max. 35 m) and 10.6 m at 50 km/h, both with a 2000 kg vehicle and impact severity class A to EN 1317, which makes ZoneStop well suited to urban sites where space is limited.

The integrated sign mast is raised and lowered by one person, locks rigid with a hand-wheel and folds down so the units stack three high for transport and storage. The integrated lifting yoke over the centre of gravity allows handling with forks, chain or grapple, and the unit can also be lifted under its concrete weights. A side-mounted, lockable battery box holds the power supply for warning lights.

The modular construction is refurbishable after an impact: wear parts are replaced instead of the whole unit, and end-of-life components are dismantled and recycled separately.
