Viacount II · Mobile Radar Traffic Counter

The Viacount II is a compact, mobile traffic counting device that automatically captures reliable traffic data: vehicle speed, number of vehicles, vehicle class, direction and spacing between vehicles, accurate to the second. The collected data forms the basis for road planning decisions and documents traffic development in cities, municipalities and counties, from identifying car, van and HGV volumes to providing concrete figures on toll bypass traffic or the effectiveness of transit restrictions.

The core of the unit is a rechargeable battery, an integrated side-mounted Doppler radar and internal data storage, all protected inside a lockable, lightweight and robust housing. The counter mounts quickly on posts and bridges at various heights and measuring angles, and one battery charge covers more than two weeks of continuous measurement in both directions.

Analysis with viagraph

The included viagraph communication and analysis software prepares the collected data in up to 20 different chart and table formats (Excel), including average daily traffic volume (DTV), average and maximum speeds, v85 and the share of heavy goods traffic.
