The viafalcon SOLAR is the energy-saving specialist among the viafalcon radar detectors: with an extremely low power consumption of less than 50 mW (3.5 mA @ 12 V) and integrated battery discharge protection for 6 V, 12 V and 24 V systems, it is purpose-built for solar and battery powered standalone applications.

The microprocessor-controlled detector covers long distances — up to 250 m for cars — within a narrow 12° x 17° detection zone, detecting approaching and/or leaving vehicles with adjustable direction. It sets a relay when the speed exceeds or falls below the adjusted threshold, a third relay indicates the vehicle movement direction, and all measured speed values are output numerically via the RS232 interface. The measurement cycle is adjustable between 200 ms and 2.5 s, and detection sensitivity in 5 steps.
