MASH 2016 TL-3 approved trailer chassis for Trailer Truck Mounted Attenuator (TTMA) protection
The TTMA Trailer "Sweden" is the structural chassis of the NTS TTMA-200 Trailer Truck Mounted Attenuator (TTMA). It connects directly to the towing truck's standard draw eye and absorbs rear-end impact energy through a patented tube-bursting system, protecting roadworkers and mobile work zones without the need for a dedicated TMA vehicle.
Supplied by Nordic Traffic Safety GmbH, which rebuilds and adapts the unit to meet European norms and requirements.

Safety and approvals
Approved to MASH 2016 TL-3 (tests 3-50, 3-51, 3-52, 3-53)
All four MASH 2016 tests successfully performed at 100 km/h with a 2,270 kg pickup truck and an 1,100 kg passenger car — head-on, offset and angled
Test results show minimal deformation and no loose debris from the TTMA after impact (example: 1,100 kg car at 100 km/h, head-on)
Approved by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) for use on public roads where the state is the road authority — decision TRV 2020/78913, dated 29 October 2020
Patented tube-bursting technology: on impact, a tapered mandrel from the inner tube is forced into the outer tube, which is split in a controlled manner into four sections that remain attached to the device at all times — delivering controlled energy absorption with no loose fragments
Modular design for low repair cost: low-speed impacts (up to 15 km/h) typically cause no significant damage; medium-speed impacts usually require only replacement of bursting tubes, reflective panels and trailer lights, using standard tools

The TTMA Trailer "Sweden" (SKU 300200013) is one of two components that make up the complete NTS TTMA-200 system:

Both SKUs are required for the complete, ready-to-deploy TTMA-200 solution permitted by Trafikverket for use on state-maintained public roads in Sweden.
Vehicle weight requirements
Product requirement: the TTMA Trailer can be used with any truck with a gross vehicle weight of at least 4.6 tonnes
National requirement (Sweden): Trafikverket requires a minimum gross vehicle weight of 8,600 kg (excluding the TMA unit and mounting hardware) for use on state-maintained public roads, in addition to compliance with the manufacturer's upper weight limits
Installation and operating instructions in the relevant national language are supplied with the product
